About Us

The Community Church For YOU

Love God, Love Jesus, Love People.

Our Vision

Our vision is to nurture a bright community of believers, committed to living out the love of Christ in every area of our lives. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and through His death and resurrection, we are offered new life and hope. Our mission is to share this hope with others, disciple believers, and make a positive impact on our community and the world through service, worship, and outreach.

We hold firmly to the teachings of Scripture as the inspired and authoritative Word of God, guiding us in all aspects of life. We value worship, fellowship, and discipleship, creating an environment where every person can grow in their relationship with Christ and be empowered to live out their faith. Together, we strive to be a church where all are welcome, lives are transformed, and the love of Christ is shared with everyone we encounter.

Our Journey In Cape

It all started in 1966 when the idea of a Seventh-Day Adventist church being planted in Cape Girardeau was pioneered by a small group of energetic and idealistic people. By 1972 the funds were raised, the land was procured, and the real work could get started! With efforts from the community and the conference the church building was constructed and in 1975 the church was finalized. Then came 1978 the church was officially dedicated, and the hard work of the founders was realized.

Since then, the church has maintained the desire to create a strong community and help others when and where possible. Years later our goal is still to share the gospel with the people of Cape Girardeau County.

What is a Seventh-Day Adventist?

The Seventh-Day Adventist movement is young in the context of religious movements; being founded in 1863 right here in the United States. The movement has been growing ever since and is now an international movement with over 25 million members in over 200 countries. We pursue biblical understanding and seek to share the ever-loving glory of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost to all his children. The 28 fundamental beliefs are the foundation of our religion and ministry.

Why The Sabbath?

A good place to start is with the Ten Commandments, where God specifically calls us to "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy." God gave us His perfect law, and just as the other nine commandments haven't changed, neither has the importance of the Sabbath. It’s a commandment that was made for us before sin entered the world. In fact, God Himself spent the first Sabbath with humanity, and what a beautiful thing that was. He didn’t simply rest for the sake of rest but chose to fellowship with His creation.

This intimate time of rest and communion was part of God’s design for humanity, establishing the Sabbath as a sacred day for all people to enjoy with him. The Sabbath was not just a command, but a gift from God—a time set apart to connect with Him and find rest. Find out more here!
